Meet The Founder

Katherin Oigbokie, M.S., CCC-SLP is the founder of Lifespan Speech and Swallow Therapy, where she brings her expertise and genuine compassion to each client she serves. Katherin holds a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of South Florida. She began her career in a pediatric clinic, where she developed expertise in treating a range of communication challenges, including autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, apraxia, fluency and feeding difficulties.

Katherin’s commitment to inclusion and diversity took root during her formative years in Jamaica, where she attended Hope Valley Experimental School. Growing up in an inclusive environment where children of all abilities learned, played, and grew together inspired her enduring respect for diversity and her dedication to serving underserved communities.

At Lifespan Speech and Swallow Therapy, Katherin provides evidence-based, play-centered therapy and partners closely with families to achieve meaningful progress. She sees every child’s unique strengths as a foundation for growth and is passionate about making a positive difference in each child’s life, helping them reach their fullest potential with compassion, respect, and joy.
Katherin went on to working in the home health setting with adults with swallowing disorders and cognitive-communication difficulties. She transitioned to working in skilled nursing facilities with geriatric clients with a wide range of diagnoses including Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's Dementia, among others.
Katherin’s vision for opening Lifespan Speech and Swallow Therapy was birthed out of the passion that she has for assisting children with improving their communication skills. She is passionate about equipping parents and caregivers with the knowledge and resources to raise healthy and happy children. Having experienced the benefits of creating and fostering a rich language for her own children, Katherin realized that she wanted to help more children achieve their communication milestones. She enjoys offering advice and tips to young parents who struggle with understanding their child’s communication or feeding needs. Katherin believes that it takes a healthy village to raise healthy and happy children. Lifespan Speech and Swallow Therapy would like to be included in your child's village as they develop into wonderfully amazing individuals.
