Meet The Founder

Katherin Oigbokie, M.S., CCC-SLP, is the founder of Lifespan Speech and Swallow Therapy. She is the proud mother of four biological children; however, she views all her clients as family and treats them with the same level of compassion and care that she  demonstrates toward her own.

Katherin graduated from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL with a master of science degree in Speech-Language pathology in 2013. She began her career at a pediatric clinic where she focused on working with children with autism spectrum disorder, global developmental delays, late talkers, apraxia, feeding, fluency, reading, and social communication difficulties. She was directly trained by a dual certified speech-language pathologist and board certified behavior analyst where she learned more about behavior as a form of communication.

Katherin went on to working in the home health setting with adults with swallowing disorders and cognitive-communication difficulties. She transitioned to working in skilled nursing facilities with geriatric clients with a wide range of diagnoses including Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's Dementia, among others.

Katherin’s vision for opening Lifespan Speech and Swallow Therapy was birthed out of the passion that she has for assisting children with improving their communication skills. She is passionate about equipping parents and caregivers with the knowledge and resources to raise healthy and happy children. Having experienced the benefits of creating and fostering a rich language for her own children, Katherin realized that she wanted to help more children achieve their communication milestones. She enjoys offering advice and tips to young parents who struggle with understanding their child’s communication or feeding needs. Katherin believes that it takes a healthy village to raise healthy and happy children. Lifespan Speech  and Swallow Therapy would like to be included in your child's village as they develop into wonderfully amazing individuals.
